Brown Rudnick and CFAAR hosted an event entitled, “The Keys to Lost Fortunes - Unlocking the Art of Crypto Recovery’’.
After some lively networking over breakfast, the panel session brought together the legal expertise of Jessica Lee (Brown Rudnick) and Dan Wyatt (RPC), the crypto-tracing experience of Henry Edelstein (Raedas), and the industry knowledge of Helene Almas (Kraken) for an insightful discussion with lots of practical tips for crypto recovery practitioners.
Highlights included tips on the legal, commercial and practical issues every legal practitioner needs to consider at the outset of a crypto recovery matter; explanations of the possibilities and limitations of tracing stolen crypto through exchanges and chain hops; and how Kraken balances assisting crypto fraud victims with upholding principles of data protection and non-interference with the assets of innocent individuals. The panel explored how lawyers, investigators and exchanges can effectively work together to assist victims of crypto fraud.
